Hi there, I'm Melody!
I have been playing piano since I was 8. I graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor of music in performance in 2017. I love children, teaching, designing, and making music!
I have been teaching piano since 2005. In college, I taught private piano lessons through the teaching intern program under the supervision of pedagogy professors. I also worked as the keyboard tutor for two years.
I have group teaching experience in a college setting, and I also had the opportunity to assist Opus Ithaca School of Music in developing their piano literacy program. After college I taught general music classes at a private school for a year.
Services Offered
PRIVATE PIANO LESSONS
I offer weekly 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute private lessons. I provide feedback on repertoire and introduce new skills and concepts.
PERFORMANCE & GROUP CLASSES
I offer performance classes where students can practice performing for each other and giving/receiving constructive feedback. I also offer group classes focused on developing theory and keyboard skills.
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT & SUMMER CAMP
I offer coached practice sessions scheduled on an individual basis. Instead of a typical lesson, I will just help a student practice! Additionally, I sometimes offer a summer camp full of fun, educational music activities.
